Professional Learning Institute Description: Save the Date!
Calling all Athletic Directors. You are invited to join the third annual professional learning institute designed by and for Athletic Director’s and aspiring Athletic Director’s in international schools.
This 2-day in-person Professional Learning Institute, aims to provide high-impact, contextually relevant learning that empowers Athletic Directors and provides an opportunity to obtain two of the six levels of certification from The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).
As a result of participating in this PLI, attendees can expect to:
To gain professional knowledge, expertise and best practices
To become a more efficient and effective athletic administrator
To create the best possible experience for your student-athletes
·To engage in peer networking opportunities
The PLI will focus on two training modules created and accredited by NIAAA. The modules are core to the role of the Athletic Director in any international school:
Guiding Foundations, Philosophies, and Resources: This launchpad module serves as an overview of interscholastic athletic administration. This module introduces the philosophy of educational athletics and explores athletic program culture and relationships/
Legal Issues I (Liability for Sports Injuries and Risk Management): This module provides in-depth coverage of the legal standards governing liability for sports injuries with strategies to develop, implement, and document an effective risk management program for interscholastic athletics.

David Goetz is a career overseas educator with 30 years of teaching and administrative experience. David has a Masters of International Education and a Masters of Science along with his undergraduate degree of Physical Education from Queen’s University in Canada. An NIAAA certified Athletic Director, David has worked in 7 international schools as an Athletics and Activities Director including The International School of Beijing, The International School of Kuala Lumpur, The American International School of Johannesburg, and currently, The Cairo American College.
