SUMMARY
This 2-day workshop will equip participants with hands-on practice in using a wide range of Visible Thinking strategies to promote student learning and to hone critical thinking skills.

Participants in this hands-on workshop will learn a wide range of research-proven strategies that allow students to demonstrate their thinking across subject areas and grade levels.

As a result of participating at this institute, you can expect to:

  • Reflect on your own classroom culture and identify ways to create more opportunities for students to develop specific types of critical thinking
  • Reflect on videos & live examples of visible thinking in action and unpack the value of the lesson

    FACILITATORS
    Mark Church works with educators near and far who desire to create cultures of thinking in their classrooms and schools. Mark challenges teachers to foster thinking habits in students in service of deep understanding. He invites teachers to develop and use a language of thinking that communicates value for student sense-making. And Mark encourages teachers to make their classroom environment rich with the documents of thinking processes. Mark is currently a consultant with Harvard Project Zero’s Making Thinking Visible and Cultures of Thinking initiatives worldwide, drawing upon his own classroom teaching experience and from the perspectives he has gained working with educators for a number of years.
