School Description |
| | The American School of Douala is an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian day school, fully accredited by The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. ASD provides a high-standard American style curriculum, taught in English, and currently enrolls about 150 students in grades PreK through 10.. We will be adding grade 11 in 2013 and grade 12 in 2014, and will offer Advanced Placement (AP) courses in our high school. Our curriculum features two language immersion preschools, one in French and one in English; we offer both intramural and competitive sports—we are a member of WAISAL, the West African International Schools Activities League—and a full range of after-school activities. ASD has a beautiful new facility with 20 classrooms, a covered gymnasium, a grassed sports field with running track, a covered playground, a computer lab, a library, a multi-purpose room, and Wi-Fi throughout. ASD is a full member of AISA, the Association of International Schools in Africa. |
